BecomeaCanadian: Canada Wants More Chinese Highly-Skilled Workers

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]As the number of highly-skilled workers from China continues to dwindle, the Canadian government hopes to double visa application centers in that country in an attempt to boost the number of international workers in Canada. The Canadian government wants to add more offices where Chinese citizens can apply for Canadian visas. Become a Canadian is particularly excited about this new venture to help more Chinese live and work in Canada.

John McCallum, Canada’s immigration minister, recently met with senior Chinese officials in Beijing hoping to open a minimum of five more visa offices in Shenyang, Chengdu, Wuhan, Nanjing, and Jinan. There are five visa offices currently in China.

A Canadian government official sent an email to CBC News stating Canada needs to take advantage of a great economic opportunity by opening more visa offices in China. The official asked to remain anonymous.[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZs2i3Bpxx4″ align=”center”][vc_column_text]As Prime Minister Justin Trudeau prepared for the G20 Summit, he gave McCallum the job of creating an immigration plan for the next three years. Details of the plan should emerge soon. Liberals hope the plan will promote innovation and further grow Canada’s economy. Become a Canadian is an independently-owned immigration service that can help with the immigration process to Canada.

On January 1, 2015, the previous conservative government implemented the Express Entry system in an effort to entice immigrants to take jobs where Canadian workers were not available. According to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, China was the top country for permanent residency in 2013. However, after Express Entry rules tightened, China fell to fifth place.

Liberals are hoping to relax some of the rules under the Express Entry program. When the House of Commons restarts, a parliamentary committee will present a report after reviewing the program. The Liberal government also wants to replace an overhauled version of the now defunct millionaire investment program. Launched by conservatives, the program only attracted seven millionaires from abroad instead of the program’s goal of sixty.
