Filipino Business Leaders Form Alberta Chamber of Commerce

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Filipino business leaders in Alberta felt the need to have a voice in the community. To give the Filipino business owners in Alberta more visibility, and also improve advocacy and collaboration, they formed a new chamber of commerce. A leadership forum earlier in the year birthed the idea. Chairperson of the newly created Filipino Chamber of Commerce Alberta, Michael Siervo, said, “There’s a massive business community that doesn’t have a voice.” If you are considering relocating to Canada, contact BecomeACanadian for help with the immigration process. There are close to 175,000 Filipino residents in Alberta and 25% of the newcomers are coming from The Philippines. The mission of the new chamber is to widen visibility, the ethics, and the standards of all the businesses. Siervo says that will help the cultural, civic, and economic welfare of all involved. With the help of the chamber, networking and connecting businesses will help to share valuable experiences and the best practices. The board consists of fourteen members who are all business owners. They come from a myriad of backgrounds ranging from the restaurant industry to the medical field. Siervo said that the sense of belonging to something is very important to the Filipino community.

Living in Canada is a wonderful experience due to the welcoming of newcomers. There are many opportunities for every member of the family. Contact BecomeACanadian for information about applying for the required visa to live and work in Canada.
